The Ahuriri Valley
The Ahuriri Valley (pronounced A-hu-riri) is a dramatic landscape of mountains, golden tussock lands, wetlands, and native beech forests. Flowing through its heart is the Ahuriri River — renowned for its world-class fly fishing and often dotted with fishermen in the summer months. The valley forms part of the expansive Ahuriri Conservation Park, a protected alpine wilderness with sweeping views of the Southern Alps and easy access to outdoor pursuits. From The Lindis Lodge, the ever-changing light across the valley floor and peaks beyond provides a constant, breathtaking connection to the land.
