Wine & Food

Visit the Valli Wine Bar or River-T Wines, enjoy lunch at the Waitaki Braids café, or sample craft beers at Scotts Brewing. Discover the producers helping shape Waitaki's growing reputation as a unique food and wine destination.

Walking & Cycling

The Waitaki Valley can be explored on foot and by bike, from coastal strolls and river trails to multi-day cycling routes. Highlights include the Kurow Wetlands, limestone formations of Elephant Rocks, the dramatic Clay Cliffs near Ōmārama, and the Benmore Peninsula Track overlooking Lake Benmore. 

Alps 2 Ocean

The Alps 2 Ocean Trail links Aoraki/Mount Cook to the Pacific Ocean, traversing hydro lakes, braided rivers, deep valleys, and small rural communities. Positioned along the route, Clos Ostler provides a refined base from which to experience one of New Zealand's most scenic cycling journeys.

Nature & Landscape
