Mt Isthmus is situated on one of the best stretches of water for fly fishing locations in the world, the Ahuriri River. The Ahuriri River is internationally renowned, and has been rated top 5 in the world!

The river runs directly in front of the lodge so guests can take a short stroll down to the waters edge.  Guests will also be able to watch local anglers in the fishing season from the lodge as they fish for trout over the summer months.
