The Lindis
The Lindis

Jonathan Mazzucco

The Lindis Lodge Manager

Jon, tell us about your role and what you do at The Lindis?

I work closely with our management team to create luxurious experiences that go beyond guests expectations and to provide industry leading hospitality. My goal is to create a distinct Lindis Group feeling and atmosphere and to give our guests unforgettable memories. Some of my responsibilities include staff, training and what I enjoy the most; showing our guests around the property and sharing their experiences at the end of the day.

Tell us about your previous experience and background.

I studied International Hospitality Management and graduated in 2018 from the École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. Before coming to The Lindis I worked at The Mayfair Hotel in London. I’ve always found the lodge concept fascinating as it allows us, through its small size, to give a truly tailored made experience to all the guests.

What is your favourite thing to do onsite or in the area?

I have had the chance to travel a lot and to visit many countries in my life and it helps me to realise how lucky we are in New Zealand. The Ahuriri Valley is truly spectacular and never stops to amaze me. During my free time I love going out for runs or hikes. I also enjoy horse riding with our Stables Manager Olivia. In the winter months I would usually go skiing in the near Wanaka or Ohau ski field and love to explore the neighbouring Aoraki National park.

Lastly, what do you love most about New Zealand?

What I love about New Zealand is its nature. You can be on the top of a glacier in the morning and then on a black sandy beach in the afternoon. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel between all of our properties and it is amazing to see how different the landscapes are throughout the country.
